Recalibrate: A Clinical Skills Session for Pelvic Health Physios

When’s the last time someone actually watched your VE, PR or POP assessment technique and gave you real feedback? Not a refresher video, not a slide deck, but eyes on what you’re actually doing.

For most physios, it’s been years. Once you’re out of undergrad or postgrad training, that kind of feedback mostly disappears, even though the skill matters just as much (if not more) once you’re managing complex caseloads on your own. That’s what Recalibrate is for.

Event Details

Monday 12 October, 9am–1pm

2 Coxs Garden, Williamstown, VIC

What’s Covered

  • VE refresher

  • PR refresher

  • POP assessment refresher

Our mentors have taught this exact subject matter to physios for years, across hospital, private practice and course settings, so the feedback you get is from people who’ve seen a lot of technique and know exactly what to look for. Groups are capped, so everyone actually gets time and feedback, not just a seat in the room.

    Who This Is For

    AHPRA registered physios

  • Previously completed a course teaching VE (minimum requirement)

  • Current indemnity insurance

    A Note on Format

This is a peer assessment model. As is standard practice with most pelvic floor workshops, participants consent to acting as peer models and being assessed during the practical sessions. We believe this hands-on approach adds real value to the learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns about this, get in touch before booking.

  • The Session in More Detail

The session runs for four hours and focuses heavily on practical, internal assessment. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • PV and PR assessments: many courses only touch on muscle function at a basic level. We dedicate real time to accurate, nuanced pelvic floor assessment through digital palpation, covering tone, resting tension, strength grading, endurance, coordination and functional activation, then how to translate that into an individualised strength, endurance or coordination program.

  • POP focus: dedicated time on prolapse evaluation, including how to perform a modified POP-Q and standing POP assessments.

  • Format and protocols: throughout, we place a strong emphasis on participant comfort, strict hygiene and infection control, informed consent and practical facilitation cues to help refine your technique.

    Cost

$349 per person ($249 for current PPPM members)
