Meet your mentors

Our team of Pregnancy and Pelvic Physio Mentors, led by Karina Coffey and Rebecca Liberatore, are experienced senior clinicians with postgraduate qualifications in pregnancy and pelvic physio. The team have many years of clinical experience in public, private and community sector roles in both Australia and overseas and have been fortunate to have learnt from incredible clinicians including physios, Obstetricians and Urogynaecologists over our careers.

Many of our team have been recognised as leaders in clinical education and work as clinical tutors on the Grad Certificate in Pelvic Health at Melbourne Uni and present as subject expert lecturers on pregnancy and pelvic health subjects in post-graduate and undergraduate university programs.

 
 

Karina Coffey

Karina is a pelvic floor and pregnancy physiotherapist with over 12 years experience. Karina has lead teams of pelvic physiotherapists in some of the biggest maternity and gynaecology hospitals in Australia and the UK and established her own private practice, along with Rebecca, in 2017. Karina has been involved in clinical research and education in the pelvic floor field and was the recipient of a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards 2017. Karina has an advanced interest in the management of post-partum pelvic floor disorders including birth trauma and in treating chronic pelvic pain.

 

rebecca Liberatore

Rebecca is a highly sought after pregnancy and pelvic floor physiotherapist with a high level background in sports physiotherapy. Rebecca has held senior clinical roles within major Melbourne hospitals for over 10 years before she started her own practice with Karina in 2017. Rebecca is a highly regarded clinical educator and teaches other physiotherapists at the University of Melbourne in their post-graduate and masters women’s health and pelvic health degrees. Rebecca is a clinical expert in the management of prolapse and in safe exercise during pregnancy and after birth. Rebecca is also featured as a clinical expert partnering with global brands including Tiff XO, Purebaby and Bub App.
