The PPPM Story

Over their years in education, Bec and Karina have met many Physiotherapists accessing formal training to pursue their passion for women’s and pelvic health. A common theme amongst this cohort was students reporting apprehension at the lack of support available to them upon return to the workplace. This was due to lack of specialist mentorship available to them.

Many lost confidence and sight of their passion while others are forced to look elsewhere (where possible) for meaningful employment with appropriate support available from senior women’s and pelvic health staff.

PPPM is the response to bridge the gap between course and confident clinician. The mentoring program was created to comprehensively support and equip Pelvic Physios with clinically applicable knowledge and skills to make quality treatment more accessible to consumers.

MPPP X PPPM

In 2017, the team behind Pregnancy and Pelvic Physio Mentor established Melbourne Pregnancy and Pelvic Physio (MPPP) a boutique Pregnancy and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy clinic in North West Melbourne.

The business has expanded very quickly in that short time. In 5 years it has grown to include 2 sites, an exercise studio and employ over 20 staff. In 2022, the business was a state finalist in the Telstra Business Awards.

PPPM (which happens to be the reverse of MPPP) is an extension of the work done through MPPP to improve the lives of pregnancy and pelvic health clients.

This is done by providing a comprehensive, nurturing and supportive environment for Pelvic Physios to thrive and make an impact in their clients’ lives.
